The last 16 match in the SSE Scottish Cup between Hibernian and Dundee United on Sunday 12th August has been called off. This is due to Dundee United being unable to field a team.
As a result, Hibernian will progress to the next round of the competition. This will be drawn on Tuesday 14th of August.
Dundee United’s decision to forfeit the match will be referred to the SWF Board. In previous seasons/rounds, the sanction for failing to fulfil a fixture is usually a fine and the inability to enter the competition the following year.
SWF will immediately be considering increased sanctions per round for the SSE Scottish Women’s Cup, starting in the 2019 competition.
