SWF Statement – 2021/22 SWPL 2 format

In consultation with Scottish Women’s Premier League (SWPL) 2 clubs, we can confirm that the 2021/22 season will see teams face each other four times. This means teams will have an equal number of home and away ties to complete 24 matches each.

With seven teams in the league after Partick Thistle’s promotion to SWPL 1, there will be no relegation from SWPL 2 in the 2021/22 season. All other promotion and relegation placings, as confirmed previously, remain for the 2021/22 season. This means that both SWPL 1 and SWPL 2 will feature 10 teams for the 2022/23 season.
