#SWFL1 North: Stonehaven Ladies v Dee Vale Ladies

Stonehaven 1 – 2 Dee Vale

Dee Vale rediscovered their fighting spirit to come from behind and claim their first win of the season.

Dee Vale just shaded the early exchanges, creating several good chances which they were unable to finish.

Stonehaven found their feet midway through the first half but a couple of fine saves from Davidson in the Vale goal kept it goalless at the interval.

HT Stonehaven 0 – 0 Dee Vale

Stonehaven came out quickly, attempting to press the game and almost took the lead with a shot from the edge of the area which cannoned off the crossbar.

The home side took the lead, against the run of play, midway through the second half.

A cross from the left following a neat one-two evaded the keeper and the onrushing player arrived with perfect timing to slide it home. There was no panic in the Vale ranks and the girls continued to work hard for the equaliser.

It eventually came with less than ten minutes remaining: McCann, surrounded by three defenders, tried to make room for a shot inside the box and the ball broke to Fielding who stuck it away.

The away side continued to try and snatch the win and were rewarded for their efforts five minutes from time.

Galloway received the ball wide on the right and slid a pass through for Fielding who thundered a shot into the top corner.

It turned out to be the winner as the entire team worked hard to withstand Stonehaven pressure in the final minutes and see out the game.
