Scottish Women’s Football (SWF) has today informed impacted clubs of a change to the scheduling of the 2019 SSE Scottish Women’s Cup.
Due to an administrative error, the Fourth Round of the competition was missed from the Senior planner that was provided at the start of the season. The Fourth Round of the 2019 SSE Scottish Women’s Cup is now scheduled to be played on or before Sunday 25th August.
This change means that any league fixtures involving sides in the Fourth Round of the SSE Scottish Women’s Cup, scheduled for Sunday 25th August, are now postponed. These fixtures must be arranged at the discretion of the relevant clubs on or before Wednesday 9th of October.
Fiona McIntyre, Executive Officer of SWF, said: “This has been an administrative error that we’ve have worked quickly to resolve. We’ve ensured the integrity and smooth running of all our competitions is maintained, despite the issue faced.
“With a small team running our 62 competitions, we’ve certainly been pushed to the limit and this has been exacerbated by such a busy footballing year. However, we know this is a mistake and one which we will learn from going forward.
“We’d like to take this opportunity to apologise to our members and those involved in the game for this error. We have strived to find a solution that will cause the least inconvenience.”
