Glasgow City ended the Scottish Building Society SWPL 1 season undefeated as they put three goals without reply past Aberdeen in the granite city.
Scott Booth’s side, who were officially crowned Champions last weekend for the eleventh successive season, opened the scoring early when Noelle Murray twist and turned in the Dons box before firing into the back of the net.
Captain Leanne Ross netted from the spot, after earlier hitting the bar with a penalty to make it 2-0, before Keeva Keenan headed home a Joanne Paton cross to give City the 3-0 win and keep their impressive record of not having lost a League goal since May still intact.
Commenting Booth said, “Aberdeen made it really tough for us today. They were well organised and posed a threat at times. We didn’t play our best, but we were professional. We managed to come away with three points, a clean sheet and excellent game time for our younger players who did very well.”
City now prepare for the final game of the season, the SSE Scottish Cup Final against Hibernian next Sunday at the Tony Macaroni Stadium in Livingston, 4.10pm.
