#SWPLCup Quarter Final Draw
The draw for the SWPL Cup Quarter Final was conducted this morning at Hampden Park by Laura Dougan, Head of Governance at the Scottish FA.
After a seeded first round, seven of the SBSSWPL 1 clubs have reached the next stage of the competition. Only one SBSSWPL 2 side, Glasgow Girls, have a chance of making the Quarter Finals as their match against Hamilton was postponed.
The last eight will see reigning champions, Hibernian, go up against Rangers. The two sides met at the same stage of the competition in 2017 with Hibernian coming away 5-0 winners. They also met in the Semi Finals in 2016 with Hibernian winning 4-1.
Celtic will travel to face the winners of the match between Glasgow Girls and Hamilton. They will be hoping to go one better this year after their 4-1 defeat to Hibernian in the 2017 final.
The most successful club in the history of the SWPL Cup, Glasgow City, will be looking to add their six trophies. They failed to reach the final in 2017 for the first time since 2011 after losing to Hibernian in the Semi Finals. They face Spartans who have reached the final on five occasions, most recently in 2013, but have yet to win the trophy.
The final match is between Forfar Farmington and Stirling University. Neither side has ever won the competition or reached the final, but the victor will find themselves one game away from possible glory.
It has also been confirmed that the Semi Finals and the Final will be played at Falkirk Stadium. Click here for more info.
