SWF statement on Motherwell WFC development team

Scottish Women’s Football (SWF) and the Perform and Win Committee, commonly referred to as the League Management Committee (LMC), have been informed by Motherwell WFC of a decision to fold their development team with immediate effect and withdraw from the SWFL West league.

The development side won the SWFL Plate last season, but Motherwell have stated that this was a decision made by the players and given assurances that the club will support players to find new clubs.

Motherwell Development’s withdrawal from the pyramid means all results in the SWFL West against them will be declared null and void. The league tables have been updated accordingly.
