The Scottish Building Society SWPL Champions 2017 are Glasgow City FC. It’s another record breaking season for Scotland most successful ladies team. Ainslie Park saw a tremendous turn out as both Hibernian Ladies and City fans were out in force to cheer on their teams. Although Hibernian Ladies lost 0-3 in a hard fought game after the final whistle applauded Glasgow City as they lifted the cup.
Congratulating Glasgow City on their win, Kerra McKinnie, Head of Marketing and Communications at Scottish Building Society said: ‘It’s an honour to present the Scottish Building Society SWPL 1 trophy today to a team that deserve to finish top of the league after winning against such fierce competition. They have enjoyed a busy season and are an inspiration to younger players eyeing up their future in the game.
