Aberdeen Football Club Ladies players & coaches have returned to pre-season training as they prepare for another competitive and entertaining season of SWPL football.
Head Coach Stefan Laird, Assistant Kevin Buchan along with the rest of the staff will be looking for a good pre season as they ready their young squad for another competitive season ahead. Having successfully steered the club safe of relegation last year they will look to consolidate their position within the SWPL this coming season.
Aberdeen Football Club Ladies Head coach Stefan Laird is excited about the season coming and said:
“It is fantastic to have the players and staff together again after what has been a good break. It will be a period of extremely hard work for all involved and we look forward to that. We have several additions to the squad, some from out with and others from within our own Academy structure, you will hear more about them shortly.”
“As always we strive to improve each and every session as we look to consolidate our position within an extremely competitive SWPL. Life just is not the same without the game, we are delighted to be together on the training field again and we look forward to the 2017 campaign. Come On You Reds.”
Aberdeen Football Club Ladies striker Nikki Smith is one of the more experienced players in the team and she is also excited about the season coming who said:
“Everyone is desperate to get into it now. It’s been a long break since we kicked a ball so looking forward to getting back into it and shaking off the winter blues.”
The 2017 season is expected to kick off during early spring time, with fixtures to be released imminently and there is a fresh air of excitement and anticipation within everyone at the club striving to build on the 7th place finish achieved last season.
We will sit down with Head Coach, his staff and players regularly in the lead up to the new season for some more in depth discussions and to keep you up to date with all the news from Aberdeen FC Ladies.
We would like to thank everyone for their continued support.
