Dundee United ensured they remained top of the SWFL1 (North) table with a dominant display against Dee Ladies.

United’s started the match well and should’ve scored in the opening minute. A corner from Keira Johnstone fell back to her however the shot fizzed beyond the post.
It took only 9 minutes for the first goal to be scored. A cross from the right hand side by Chloe Robertson was headed away. The header fell kindly to Laurie Denney who opened the scoring with a cushioned volley.
Denney got her and DUWFC’s second of the match only a few minutes later. A Dee Ladies goal kick was headered forward by Stacey McFadyen and Denney finished from 17 yards.
It should have been three for Denney after 27 minutes when she rounded the Dee Ladies ‘keeper but her shot from a tight angle went narrowly wide.

Denney got her hat trick in the opening minutes of the second half. An excellent through ball from new signing Neve Guthrie found Denney who lobbed the keeper from just outside the area.
The fourth goal came in bizarre fashion in the 57th minute. A cross from Phillipa McCallum was deflected out for a corner. McCallum took the resulting corner and managed to score from her in-swinging cross.
It was 5-0 shortly after as Guthrie blasted the ball high into the roof of the net, with turning provider.
Captain Keira Johnstone scored the 6th in the 72nd minute. She picked up the ball at the corner of the box and touched the ball out of her feet before her shot from the edge of the box flew into the top corner.
Guthrie got her second and DUWFC’s 7th of the afternoon with 12 minutes remaining when she latched onto a long ball and slotted beyond the keeper from the corner of the box.
