ROLE TITLE: Strong Quality Growth Director – voluntary position

RESPONSIBLE TO: SCOTTISH WOMEN’S FOOTBALL CHAIR

LOCATION: HYBRID – ONLINE MEETINGS WITH SOME RQUIREMENT TO ATTEND HAMPDEN STADIUM, LETHERBY DRIVE, GLASGOW

 

ROLE DESCRIPTION:

 An exciting opportunity has emerged to join the Scottish Women’s Football board at what is a pivotal time for the growth of women’s and girls’ football in Scotland.  We are looking for Strong Quality Growth Director who has a track record in sport with specific knowledge and expertise in football.  They must have excellent communication skills, have an ability to think creatively and strategically, be able to contribute constructively, and be passionate and dedicated to the growth of women’s and girls’ football.

While previous experience of being involved within a Board or having experience of being a non-executive director, is not essential it would be desirable.

This is an important role for SWF with the post-holder working closely with the Chair of SWF along with other Non-Exec Directors.  They will also work closely with the CEO and the Competitions and Operations Manager.  The post holder will help guide and steer the successful growth of the youth game, drawing from their expertise and will bring essential football knowledge and understanding to the board. This post will be of interest to those looking to create a lasting and impactful legacy for young players in our sport and provides the chance to help ensure that football is the best it can be for girls across Scotland.

 

Role:

The role of the SWF Strong Quality Growth Director is to set strategy for the youth and development side of the sport and to help take key decisions for the good of football.  The youth game is growing all the time and boasts some of SWF’s largest competitions.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Chairing the Strong Quality Growth Committee
  • Strategically driving forward the areas of the game falling within the responsibility of the Strong Quality Growth Committee
  • Developing standard approaches towards league management to support and develop Regional LMCs and League Administrators
  • Supporting the management of under/overage player dispensation process
  • Upholding the core purpose and values of the SWF

We are looking for an individual with a proven track record within football that can draw from that experience and use it to create excellent opportunities for girls and women.  We also want to hear from candidates with experience of working with young people and their wellbeing needs.
