#SWPL1: Hannah Reid and Katey Turner join Hibernian Ladies…

Hibernian Ladies have added Katey Turner and Hannah Reid to the squad – both joining the side for a second time.

Katey left to seek first-team football at fellow Scottish Women’s Premier League side Rangers, impressing during her time with the Govan side’s ladies team.

She felt it was the correct decision for her to have made at the time and feels like a better player for it, but is now looking forward to another spell playing in green and white.

Speaking to Hibs TV, Katey said: “I wanted to leave as I was looking for game time, because I wanted to widen my experience in the SWPL.

“My main aim this season is to just make as much of my time as possible and giving everything I can towards the team.”

Hannah, who plays as a goalkeeper, left the club to join the women’s team at Bristol City in 2015 on a professional contract.

Now back at Hibernian, the shot-stopper says she will relish the fight for the gloves with Jenna Fife and is glad to be back at Hibernian Ladies.

Hannah said: “I’m really happy to be back after spending some time down in Bristol, but I was here for 12 years and it is the only club in Scotland that I really wanted to come back to. I’m really fortunate to be coming back here.

“You need the competition to keep improving, to push each other, so that the team will know that Jenna and I will always be sharp. We’ll help each other, it’s a goalie’s union, so it’s good.”

Hibernian Ladies Head Coach Chris Roberts says that he is glad to have added both Hannah and Katey to the team for the forthcoming campaign.

He wanted to bring in quality players if they were available, and he feels he has done that by signing the two newest members of the first-team squad.

Chris said: “It’s a great bit of business for the team. We didn’t want to change much from last season, but of course we want to add quality where we could.

“Having the opportunity to bring both Hannah and Katey back into the squad is a real positive and I’m glad to have them back.”
