SWF Statement on Grampian Ladies

Grampian Ladies have informed SWF of their intention to withdraw from SWF’s national League One competition, and as a result Scottish Women’s Football can confirm that Scotland’s fourth tier will contain 11 teams for season 2023/24.

In correspondence with SWF, Grampian Ladies have been clear that the club’s aim is to play regional football in the SWFL rather than compete in the national arm of the pyramid.

Scottish Women’s Football understands the challenges faced by clubs to remain sustainable, but this is nonetheless a disappointing development. League One will continue as planned with 11 teams instead of 12, and fixtures will be confirmed in due course, as will the makeup of the regional SWFL.
