SWF statement on Athena Glasgow

Scottish Women’s Football (SWF) and the Perform and Win Committee, commonly referred to as the League Management Committee (LMC), have been informed by Athena Glasgow that their senior team will withdraw from the SWFL West league.

Having only registered in December, Athena Glasgow have cited a lack of players as the reason for being unable to fulfil their fixtures. Scottish Women’s Football has engaged with the club to try and prevent the withdrawal, but regrettably this has not been successful.

Athena Glasgow’s withdrawal from the pyramid means all results in the SWFL West against them will be declared null and void. The league tables have been updated accordingly.
