Glasgow City U12 Coach is s1jobs coach of the month for March
David Martin of Glasgow City has been named Scottish Women’s Football and s1jobs Youth Coach of the Month for March.
Martin received the most nominations from 33 coaches nominated across the country who are inspiring girls in their football and displaying good qualities as a leader and role model.
Nominations praised him for fostering a good positive environment at training and games and helping out at other squads across the club.

Q1: How does it feel to be named Youth Coach of the Month for March?
A1. I’m delighted to be announced the winner. Its nice to have Good feedback for the hard work and dedication
Q2: How did you get into coaching and why do you do it?
A2. my 11 year old daughter who plays football got me into coaching. I was always at training and games and believed I could make a difference. So it began….
Q3: What is your career outside of football, and how do you juggle the time?
A3. I’m an hgv driver. I start work very early and finish – starting work around 4am. So I’m lucky to have the time to coach.
Q4: What’s your one piece of advice for other coaches out there in the girls’ game?
A4. My advice to other coaches is keep it simple. Let them play. Don’t be a pitch side commentator. Keep it about the kids and not yourself. Make sure they are happy at doing what they love….
