Final four in ScottishPower National League Cup revealed

Elgin City reached their first senior women’s cup semi-final with a dramatic 3-2 win over Barclays League One leaders Bishopton, to join 2025 winners Stirling University, Stenhousemuir and fellow first-time semifinalists Morton in the ScottishPower National League Cup draw.

A cagey first half saw no goals before Elgin raced to an early 3-0 lead in the second half.  Bishopton battled back with two goals from super sub Catriona Mcallister but the visitors from Moray held on.

Elidh Drain scored the only goal for Morton to knock out last season’s runners up Dryburgh Athletic in Dundee, while 2025 winners Stirling University scored three goals without reply against St Mirren.

At Ochilview, Inverurie Loco Works scored twice within five minutes to put Stehousemuir on the back foot, but through the strength of centre forward Cerys Corey the home side dug in to get three late goals in the half to go in ahead at half time. Inverurie would level again after an hour but Stenny finished strongly to win the game 5-3.

In the ScottishPower Regional League Cup, Drumchapel United put out SWFL East leaders Musselburgh Windsor with a 4-0 win, Aberdeen West End beat Murieston United 1-0.

The biggest cup competition in girls football in Scotland, the ScottishPower Youth Challenge Cup, also saw its semi-finals played on Halloween weekend in Blairgowrie, where Forfar Farmington and Bonnyrigg Rose reached the 14s final after wins against St Mirren and Central Girls respectively. Bonnyrigg Rose also reached the 16s final, their YPL Manson team beating Ross County 2-0, where they will meet an East Fife side who required penalties to knock out Livingston.

The 18s final will be between Aberdeen City, who had the better of Inverness Caledonian Thistle with a 3-1 win, and Dunfermline Athletic Whites who beat Rossvale 4-2.
