FIFA World Cup fever – take part in the SWF Summer Challenge
We are aware that for our young players the summer break can feel like a long time without football!
That’s why Scottish Women’s Football has created a summer challenge with a range of 20 activities for youth players to try out, with the added incentive of being placed into a draw to win a bag of uhlsport balls from RJM for your team.
Some are physical or artistic challenges, some are more humorous and link in with this summer’s FIFA World Cup in the USA, Mexico and Canada, which is fast approaching!
To enter the prize draw, we encourage youngsters or clubs to send in videos, artwork and designs, or post pictures and videos online using the #swfsummerchallenge hashtag of the activities listed below.
What’s more, there is every chance that the increased visibility of the World Cup will attract more girls to take up football so now is a good time for clubs to take stock of how they are positioned to welcome new players looking to take part in our sport.
Here are the #SWFSummerChallenge activities:
Post a video recreating your favourite moment from the FIFA World Cup!
Record your own commentary over a FIFA World Cup moment!
Post a video recreating one of the goals against Denmark that got Scotland there!
Post a design of a Mexican Pinata for the team you play for.
Post a pic of how your club/team are watching the games together.
Post a design of if your team was an American Football team, what would the logo be?
In tribute to Canada’s mountains, train by climbing a hill and post a picture of you at the top!
Get the facepaints out and paint yourself a saltire face – or any other flag of a country you are supporting!
You have until 26th July to post your entries with the hashtag, which allows you to recreate a moment from the world cup final if you want. Good luck, and don’t forget to use the hashtag when you post to be eligible for the prize!
