Fiona McIntyre appointed Scottish FA Head of Girls and Women’s Football


Scottish Women’s Football (SWF) can confirm that Executive Officer, Fiona McIntyre, will leave the organisation following her appointment as Head of Girls and Women’s Football at the Scottish FA and will commence her new role on 15th March.

SWF Chair, Vivienne MacLaren, said: “Since Fiona joined us as Executive Officer in 2017 (and was a Board member from 2014), we have worked together to achieve unparalleled success and growth of the girls’ and women’s game. She certainly leaves SWF in one of the strongest positions it has ever been in.

“Having led the Strategic Review of Girls’ and Women’s Football and given her experience within the game, we have no doubt that Fiona will continue to drive the development of the girls’ and women’s game in her new role. SWF and the Scottish FA have a close working relationship, and with Fiona’s appointment, we believe this relationship will be further strengthened to support the needs of the whole game.

Fiona McIntyre, said: “I am incredibly proud to have led the SWF team over the past four years in what has been an exceptional period of growth and development for girls’ and women’s football in Scotland. SWF has been a huge part of my professional life and I would like to pay special tribute to the staff and the Board for their dedication, drive and support throughout my time there.

“The opportunity to lead on the delivery of the girls and women’s strategy is one I am extremely passionate about and I am excited to embark on this new chapter at the Scottish FA.”
