There has never been a better time to get involved in women’s football in Scotland. Scottish Women’s Football is looking to recruit an Executive Officer.

ROLE TITLE: EXECUTIVE OFFICER

RESPONSIBLE TO: SCOTTISH WOMEN’S FOOTBALL (SWF) BOARD

LOCATION: HAMPDEN STADIUM, LETHERBY DRIVE, GLASGOW

This is a permanent position within SWF, and requires a minimum of 25.5 hours per week (based on a full time working week of 36.5 hours), with scope to work additional hours as may be required. Although largely office based, SWF will provide capability to work remotely and off-site as required.

ROLE DESCRIPTION:

Scottish Women’s Football is seeking to recruit an experienced leader who has a genuine commitment and passion for the development of girls’ and women’s football in Scotland.  The post holder will be responsible for the following:

  • Work closely with the Board to determine and define company values, mission, vision, strategy and both short and long term goals
  • Provide general oversight and keep the Board fully informed on company condition and on all important factors influencing it
  • Work closely with the Board and any contracted consultants to contribute to overall delivery of relevant SWF projects
  • Identify problems, opportunities and address them
  • Inform the Board of trends, issues, problems and activities to help facilitate policy making
  • Manage day to day operations and decisions ensuring smooth functioning, efficient organisation
  • Line manage SWF administrator with a focus on performance improvement through ongoing monitoring and evaluation
  • Create a work environment that recruits, retains and supports quality staff
  • Manage and develop relationships with the Scottish FA (SFA) senior managers and development staff
  • Manage and control budget as set by the Board
  • Target and develop new initiatives and partnerships in alignment with organisation’s strategic plan
  • Attend SWF Board meetings
  • Act as day to day figurehead for organisation representing SWF at local and national level, and deputise for Chair when needed
  • Manage administration of SWF Office
  • Carry out any other duties as may be reasonably requested to meet the exigencies of SWF

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

 QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Relevant degree in management, sport or business
  • Professional management qualification

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • At least three years’ experience of a management role. Sports industry experience is not required but would be beneficial
  • Experience of managing a budget
  • Administration experience

 

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES: 

  • An excellent communicator with the ability to present at Board level
  • Experienced leader with the ability to provide strategic direction, inspiration, vision and guidance
  • The ability to influence stakeholders and partners positively in order to achieve results that are in the interest of SWF
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop positive working relationships with stakeholders and partner organisations
