Seeing their second last fixture out in style, a hat-trick from Monica Forsyth, doubles from Kaitlyn Canavan and Emma Craig, and Rebecca McAllister and Darcy Molley efforts completed the rout in East Kilbride with the young side recording an impressive performance.

Celtic started brightly from the off and showed no signs of allowing Spartans any time on the ball. Lauryn Reside and Monica Forsyth worked the keeper from the wide areas before McAllister was unlucky to not put the Hoops in front as she arrived at the front post, but was bettered by the keeper.

The pressure paid off though with McAllister making no mistake on the eighth minute. Canavan took the ball into feet in the middle to turn and release the onrushing McAllister down the left, leaving the attacker to take a touch and blast it across goal and into the inside netting.

And by the quarter hour mark, they were two to the good. Canavan looked to convert from the edge of the box, but Forsyth did well to quickly adjust her feet and deliver a low finish

The visitors grew into the game more as the first-half progressed, but Celtic re-established their dominance six minutes into the second period, with a blazing strike from distance for Forsyth’s second of the game.Three minutes later, she bagged her third, with another effort from outside the box slipping through the keeper’s hands as it floated in over her head.

Shortly after an hour, Molley made it five with a skilful strike from the corner of the box that crashed in off the crossbar, before Canavan turned scorer on the 76th, as she fired a bullet of a header in at the front post. The Northern Ireland youth international then secured her brace with a clever turning finish from inside the box.

Substitute Emma Craig ensured she made her mark as well after climbing off the bench to score her own double, grabbing her first with three minutes left through a powerful low drive through the busy box, before sending a fantastic drilled shot from thirty yards goal-bound with the last kick of the ball.
