A steady and hard working performance today gave Raith the 3 points to take home, in a match which keeps the Kirkcaldy side mid table but keeps their hosts in a relegation dog fight.

The visitors went ahead in the first 5 minutes through an early penalty after Carter was brought down, Clark making no mistake from the spot. Dinnel doubled the lead with a long range strike, a repeat of last week’s wonder goal against Inverness. Dee then fought hard to get back, and might have scored but for a great goal line clearance from Moreland.

Raith went 3 up soon into the second half when a superb Penman half volley flew into the net from a McLachlan free kick.

McLachlan then hit the bar with a long range left foot effort, whilst Carter almost scored just after being treated for an injury.

The scoring was competed by McLachlan towards the end of the game when the striker spotted the keeper off her line and she belted the ball from just inside the Dee half and incredibly it sailed right into the net from around 40 metres!

So some great goals, but also confident goalkeeping from Smith and Don, some great defensive work from Stewart, Clark, Orme and Moreland, whilst Patterson and Rattray were a constant threat down the wings. A great team effort all round – well done!

Next game is next Sunday against East Fife at Stark’s Park.
