Goals from Holly Napier, Hannah Robertson, Shelley Campbell and an own goal saw the women progress to the next round.

Rangers started strong at Station Park and had a chance after just two minutes as Chelsie Watson played the ball forward to Hannah Robertson who beat the defenders for pace but her shot was saved by the feet of Fiona McNicoll in the Forfar goal.

The early pressure paid off and Rangers were ahead after only eight minutes as Chantelle Brown cut the ball back to Holly Napier who had space and fired a terrific shot from 25-yards to beat Fiona McNicoll.

Gregory Vignal’s side were two ahead just a few minutes later as Brogan Hay’s corner was diverted into the net by a Forfar player.

In a bright start for the Gers there was almost a third as Hannah Robertson was denied by a great save from the home keeper.

Forfar had a chance just before the half-hour mark as Rebecca Dempster curled a shot just over the bar from outside the box.

Rangers got their third as Hannah Robertson made ground down the left wing before cutting into the box and beating McNicoll from a tight angle.

Gregory Vignal was forced into a change just before the break as Chantelle Brown was substituted after taking a knock and was replaced by Sarah Robertson.

Rangers continued to control the game in the second half and Jayne Cameron had a chance just after the hour mark as Clare Gemmell’s free kick was swung into the box but Cameron’s header went just wide.

Gill Inglis then played the ball forward to Hannah Robertson who’s curling shot was missed by the keeper and bounced off the post.

As Rangers pushed for a fourth a free-kick swung in by Brogan Hay evaded everyone and bounced off the post.

Shortly after Hay had a shot at goal which was pushed away by the keeper.

The fourth goal did come in added time as Shelley Campbell turned in the box and fired high into the net.
