The venue for the SSE Scottish Women’s Cup Semi-Finals has been confirmed as Forthbank Stadium, Stirling. The stadium will host this stage of the competition for the second year in a row with both matches taking place on the same day, Sunday 14th October.
The teams that will take the field for the Semi-Finals are to be confirmed, with Quarter-Final matches taking place this Sunday, 16th September, and the draw on Tuesday 18th September. What is guaranteed is a Super Sunday of Women’s Football, with tickets providing entry for both matches.
Speaking after the announcement, Interim Executive Officer, Lorna Cameron, said: “It’s great to be hosting these games at Forthbank Stadium. It’s a wonderful playing surface, as acknowledged by being voted as the best pitch in the SPFL for 2017/18. With Firhill confirmed for the final, we have two fantastic venues for the biggest competition in our domestic calendar.
“We’re proud to keep making the game accessible as well, giving spectators two games for the price of one. While we won’t know the teams until Sunday, we can guarantee two competitive semi final matches.”
It has also been announced that for the first time ever, spectators can buy their tickets for the SSE Scottish Women’s Cup Final in advance (click here for more info and to buy).
“This is another positive step for Scottish Women’s Football” said Lorna. “The SSE Scottish Women’s Cup Final is a huge occasion in our calendar and we want to provide a positive spectator experience. Buying your tickets on-line and having them delivered to your door in advance adds to the exciting build up of a big event.”
A cash gate will be available for all games, with tickets charged at £5 for adults, £2 concessions, and U16’s going free.
“We think that’s fantastic value added Lorna. With kids go free, we’re focused on creating a family friendly event to inspire the next generation of players.”
