Scottish Women’s Football (SWF) have recently recruited in a number of areas as they evolve to meet the increased demands of a growing game. This ensures the organisation is able to drive the club game forward and contribute to the wider plan for girls’ and women’s football in Scotland.
These appointments are Michelle Pasnik as Child Wellbeing & Protection Officer, Liam McNally as Support Co-ordinator, and Robert Wilson as Marketing & Communications Officer. Fiona McIntyre is also now on maternity leave, with Lorna Cameron now Interim Executive Officer.
Speaking about the changes, Lorna said, “It’s an extremely exciting time for Scottish Women’s Football. The game is continuing to grow, so it’s important we do the same as an organisation. These appointments are great for everyone involved in the game. We can’t wait for them all to start and to develop during their time at Scottish Women’s Football.”
In the Child Wellbeing & Protection position, Michelle brings a wealth of experience having previously worked at Children’s First and more recently Renfrewshire Council Homeless Services. Speaking about her appointment, she said, “I can’t wait to start at Scottish Women’s Football. Having played football for Scotland and over in the USA, I’m very passionate about the game. To be able to combine this passion with my skills and experience is amazing.”
Liam will take up the role of Support Co-ordinator, dealing with the significant core admin of the organisation including processing affiliations, registrations, minute taking, friendly requests as well as day to day enquiries. This role is a fixed term, maternity cover post which will also help Lorna Cameron to fulfil additional duties as Interim Executive Officer.
He said about the position, “I’m very excited about this role. Having a Masters in Sports Management from Stirling University, I’ve always wanted to work within sport. I also recently worked as one of the auditors employed by the Scottish FA in 2017 to audit SWPL clubs as part of the Elite Club Licencing Programme, so when this opportunity became available, I was very keen to apply. I’m looking forward to starting and hitting the ground running.”
Robert, who has previously conducted work for SWF, joins the team as Marketing & Communications Officer with a wealth of knowledge and experience regarding the girls’ and women’s game. He has also worked in Marketing, PR, and Media with Castle Leisure Group, Youth Football Scotland, and the Bauer Media Group.
“I’m really delighted to have been appointed,” said Robert. “I remember covering the SWF Youth Cup back in 2011 and my passion for the game has grown from there. I’m really excited about the opportunity to help grow the game and to promote the amazing work and stories that happen within the game on a daily and weekly basis.”
