Celtic Women have made their first new signing for the forthcoming 2018 season, with 19-year-old Claire Adams rejoining the club.
Claire initially played for Celtic Girls’ Academy between 2009 and 2011 and was a member of the very successful Under-15s team which won the Scottish Cup, West League Cup and West League Championship in 2011.
For the past two seasons, she has been a member of the Scotland Under-19 squad which reached the UEFA Championship finals, playing alongside Celtic players Courtney Whyte and Jamie-Lee Napier, while also playing for Rangers at club level.
Speaking to the official Celtic website after signing for the Hoops, Claire said: “I’ve played in midfield against Kerry Montgomery and Natalie Ross – both very difficult opponents – and I’m glad to be on their side now. It’ll be difficult to force my way into the team but I’ll just have to work hard in training and hope to prove myself.
“This is also a good opportunity to play alongside experienced players, and I’ll enjoy the way Celtic play, based on keeping possession.”
